Running Crysis

well i installed crysis in ma laptop and it works, but its very laggy and i have the graphics to the lowest settings and it stills runs laggy.

is there any other way to make it go faster?

snipe you really are a trooper. helping out someone who installed crysis on a laptop. thats balls considering that game not even on max settings could fry a laptop in no time.

Defragment - Much!
Restart - Alot!
Play - Infinitely!

^ if he clean booted his laptop / set screen res to 640x480 or 800x600 with everything off in game I bet he could play it!

If a clean boot and smaller res can't do it than he is FARKED!

EDIT: Such an awsome game first time around.

when i say you can break it, i mean that crysis is seriously like a game from the future. the graphics engine is amazing! but it requires massive amounts of power to come from your Video Card. a laptop is nothing compared to any desktop gaming computer. laptops are miniature ovens, you could fry an egg on the top of them if you were to play crysis on not even full settings. i admit if crytek took maybe two or three extra years to develop the game, they could probably have re-written the cryengine2 so it would be amazingly fast, and still have that good of graphics at the same time, but then other makers would have caught up in graphics, yet their graphic engines would require lots of power from your video card, while the cryengine2 wouldn't. catch my drift?

waito do you know if your video card has "turbo cache" on it?

Turbo Cache uses the ram of your computer (not specially made for graphics performance) to add to the ram of your video card, so its like loosing processing ram, yet gaining video ram

tex idk if it has but with 65 mb video card, and it runs it. i guess it has turbo blabla

DO THIS:

START / RUN / MSCONFIG
-Startup Tab / Disable All
-Services Tab / Hide all microsoft [] / Disable All

Reboot.

Right Click blank area of desktop/wallpaper / Properties (Display Properties)
-Advanced Tab / 800x600 32bit (try 16 if not helping)

Run Crysis.
Turn all graphics settings to low.
Reboot Crysis

If this does not work than we can try other things... but I am willing to bet you can get playable frame rates with these instructions.

When you hit Start (wtf there is no word called start) there's a lil box above it once you click it, with a magnifying glass. That is run.

nope there isnt, anyways i found it....

snipe, it worked better. it still lags but its playable

btw have u got a cryserv? so we can play online

Run is hidden in Vista by default... do WINkey(windows flag) + R on keyboard

OR

Right click on the start button (Pearl) and choose properties to enable it.
