| Ok I just installed the new effects mod, (mentioned that incase it's the problem) and when I tried to open SA to test it, vista's screen changes and I can see parts of vista's screen, some black areas and misplaced icons are shown. CTRL blabla bla you know closed it down, tired again. Same thing.
Won't be on samp for a while. Any suggestions?

| uninstall SA and reinstall it. then play without the mod, should work

| if it effects tha map / objects / vehicles then it has edited the gta.img and rebuilt it. unless your talking about a sound or config mod...?

But, I uninstalled. Everytime I try to install, it has some error about data3.cab. Install it again, same thing. I've had this error before, but only once. I believe that I might need a new PC.

| try a new dvd. download a SA copy and see if you can run it with a virtual drive. i've only had one disk thats been soo scratched that it wouldn't work sometimes. everytime i reinstalled the game (which was alot) the installation would halt at 7%, 8%, 9% and so on and just sit there trying to read the disk, so i'd have to cancel the installation and try again. it usually passed up the first spot it got stuck at but sometimes got stuck in another spot in the latter part of the instalation.
